For those that are high achievers, it is not uncommon to find yourself accumulating an array of award medals and struggle to figure out where you should store them. While stashing away your awards in a drawer may seem the best option, it can neutralize the positive feelings that came with receiving them. Medals are a great way to receive recognition for having put in hard work and beating out the competition. They are used to commemorate the achievement and as such should be proudly displayed. Here are a few tips you can use to do so in your room.
Hanging hooks
Hanging hooks are a simple way to display award medals on the wall. Even for those that like to decorate heavily, there is often some space on a wall you can use for this purpose. These hooks typically come as part of a display shelf. This will allow you to hang a medal on a hook and even use the shelf for displaying other awards like trophies. If you lack trophies, it is still a functional shelf you can use to place books, ornaments, or other items.
Display case
This provides a more refined way to store and display your awards. The front has glass doors through which you can see the awards. The case offers better protection from dust and other dirt so your awards will require less work in keeping them clean.
Customize a sports implement
This is especially relevant if the awards relate to the particular sports item, like a hockey stick or baseball bat. Since they are made of wood, it should not be too difficult to screw or hammer in some hooks you can use to hang your awards. You can then hang the sports item on the wall with the awards dangling below. It makes for an interesting and sporty aesthetic.
Try a glass jar
This is another way to encase your awards, just cheaper and simpler. Take a large glass jar and arrange your awards inside so they can be easily visible, with the front side facing outward. If the medals have ribbons, you can artistically arrange them as a foundation on which to place and prop up each medal. Like with the display case, this option will help reduce exposure to dust and other dirt, making it easier to keep your awards clean.
Use a box
There are different kinds of small boxes you can use for medal storage and display. Transparent coin boxes are a good option if you want to keep a medal on display. A jewelry box, however, will keep the medal out of sight but in an attractive case.
